Reno, NV- The Spring Reno Clean and Green program is almost here which means residents need to check their water bill.
In the month of March, City of Reno residents will receive a voucher in their Truckee Meadows Water Authority bill or Washoe County Water bill. Every Saturday in April, City of Reno residents will be able to dispose of their household trash and debris at various neighborhood locations for FREE with the voucher. It is a great time to get rid of lawn trimmings, tree limbs, clutter, and garbage that have been storing up. These same vouchers can also be used for a one time FREE visit to the Waste Management’s Lockwood Landfill. In addition, a limited number of hazardous waste vouchers for Clean Harbors will be available for the disposal of old paint, oil, and other hazardous materials.
The City of Reno has made environmental wisdom a priority this year and is emphasizing the GREEN in “Reno Clean and Green.” The Reno Clean and Green program benefits the entire region by reducing illegal dumping and encouraging recycling. In addition to residential trash, residents can visit each neighborhood site in April with bikes for the Kiwanis Club, electronics for Computer Corps., tires for Tires Plus, metals for Solid Waste Reduction Services, and building materials for Habitat for Humanity. Refurbishing items and recycling helps our entire community.
Residents must present their voucher to dump for FREE at neighborhood sites or the Lockwood Landfill The special hazardous waste vouchers will be available on a first come first serve basis beginning on March 24 at Reno City Hall. Proof of City of Reno residency must be shown to receive the vouchers.
