Ballroom Makes Grand Debut

Local officials and dignitaries celebrated the grand opening of the 28,000-square-foot downtown Reno ballroom Tuesday, praising the $25 million building as a boon for downtown convention business.

"It is a great continuance of the Renaissance of downtown Reno," said Silver Legacy General Manager Gary Carano, whose banquet and catering department will act as booking agent for the ballroom.

"It's not just a Reno deal, this is a regional deal," Reno Mayor Bob Cashell said. "This is good for our whole region."
